Fights to be excited for?

Postby calebdude » Thu Mar 03, 2011 11:04 pm

I'm not sure what is coming up in the following months for MN MMA, but after Bergeron retiring before the Clint Godfrey fight, Gabe Greenberg pulling out of the Courtney Buck fight, Girtz pulling out of the Ashkan fight, and the Reddinger/Stetz fight and the Richman/Judge fights not materializing.

I really need a solid match up get me excited about local MMA again.

I want someone I know to fight someone I know, not 'some really tough guy from out of State who no one has ever heard of and no one cares about.'

Fights like:
Shana Olson vs Kaitlin Young (Bruutal)
Marcus Levessour vs Dane Sayers (Vivid MMA)
Brandon Bergeron vs Mitch Jackson (Vivid MMA)
Austin Judge vs Rich Taylor (EFX)
Courtney Buck vs Brandon Bergeron (Vivid MMA)

I was really excited for Nick Kirk vs BJ Johnson (I think) from ACA too.

Those fights had me on the edge of my seat for every minute because I knew either fighter could end it at anytime.

So what do you guys got for me Bruutal/Ambition, SEG/Vivid, Gavin/CFX, Aasen/Savage Ent?

I'd be excited for that one as well, Steve @ 185 is hard to imagine though... Word to the wise, Gavin is dirty, he won't hesitate to check your oil and find out just how 'elastic' your ass'n is...

I'm hearing rumors of said mega fight, which could take place down in Owatonna. Contracts aren't signed yet, but once they are, I'll get it on the site. You won't be disappointed ... I love this fight. The 145-pound division is getting a shakeup!

I really like the Courtney Buck vs. Nate Schut. Both guys trying to make something happen. Completely different styles.

Sounds like DeZee vs. Rene Vargas is happening at the next St. Paul Armory show. That could be good. Vargas is the real deal. Suga is the wily vet. Let's do this!

Who could Austin possibly be fighting in Owatonna Minnesota that would get me excited?

Mike Richman? Probably not, unless he went behind his mgmt and signed the fight on a unbias fight card, which would be epic on like 9 levels.

Courtney Buck? Again, I doubt it, he is in that tourney already.

Rich Taylor? I don't know if a show in Owatonna would pay him enough to match what the Res gives him.

Pat Shilling? No way, not after his last loss. Austin is too tough, too risky and smashed the guy who beat him... though that would be a great way to redeem himself...

Jens Pulver? Could be... he's been fighting on the smaller circuit lately, and if Monte Cox is promoting a show in Wuiff's hometown he might bring him in too.

Anyone else have ideas? Come on add to the hype and excitement of the fight Austin said he'd announce 3 days ago...
